It has come to my attention that there is now an unregistered Ragdoll breeder in my area. This person is selling kittens unvetted, non-vaccinated, unregistered and most importantly at 9 weeks. They are selling these kittens at £450 which to me is disgraceful considering there have been no vet fees etc paid for. Now being sold for £350 from them and there are numerous litters a year which leads me to believe they are over breeding and possibly interbreeding.
This person is claiming that if you buy the kittens from her you can GCCF register them yourself which is total nonsense. These kittens can only be registered by the breeder and only if both parents is on the Active register which I can assure they are not.
They claim that these are all show quality kittens which again is totally wrong. No breeder in the know will ever claim to have a full litter of show quality kittens. This person is actually breaching a contract that she has with her queens breeder as the queen is pet quality and should never have been bred from. In fact she doesn't even know how to pattern or colour them properly. One person I spoke to was told their seal mitted was a chocolate bi mitted lol now thats funny.
Ask yourself these questions
If she has lied to the breeder she purchased her cat from whos to say she would be honest with potential buyers?
Have the parents been tested for HCM or PKD?( Which GCCF also plan to make compulsary in the next 12 months for Ragdolls)
Have they had snap tests done before going to stud?
The kittens have no vaccinations so have they ever even seen a vet?
They are unregistered so are they genuine Ragdolls?
What has their actual health been like since birth?
This person knows who I am and we have spoken. No doubt they will have some not so nice things to say about me. Look at it this way though. Anyone of the people who have kittens that I have bred will vouch for me. My reputation is good I'd like to think. This unscrupulous breeder is in Fortrose. They have no idea what they talk about. They told the breeder they bought the cats from they would neuter only 10 months ago and guess what. They never. They are a proper wee kitten production line eg just like puppy farmers.
These are all things which us registered breeders ensure are done correct. The GCCF reccomends that we do not let kittens leave until they have had their full vaccinations and leave us in full health at 13 weeks of age. We test our breeding stock for HCM and PKD so we make sure our kittens don't leave us with either genetic disorder. My kittens personally attend the vets at least 3 times while they are in my care. I am always here if there is any issues or problems with any kittens.
I am a very open and honest person and I hide nothing from anyone when it somes to my cats. I welcome people into my home to see my cats and kittens and they can see all my cats not just the litter that I may be selling.
Theres a hell of a lot more to breeding properly than to buy a girl and put her to a boy for kittens. Proper and ethical breeders follow the GCCF guidlines.
